More about Touchnote

We all like receiving real post.

It’s pretty cheesy, but it’s so very nice to receive a card or a letter from someone that you care about.

And so we decided to build a business that would help us all do this. We like to think that we’re breathing life into digital photos, helping people relive their memorable moments by creating and sharing Touchnote cards. Yes, a little bit sentimental.

We founded Touchnote in 2008 and we've been working from our office in Camden, London (beneath the railway arches) ever since.

We print and deliver cards from Monday – Friday. We print and send cards from the UK, US and Germany - and looking forward to adding more printing operations soon.

We’re making cards more fun, more modern, more today.

Our cards are helping us to stay in touch, and occasionally helping get us out of trouble…

Types of card

What different cards are available?

We have three different cards available. Take a look at them.

  1. Our Greeting cards (122 x 188mm) are made with sleek glossy paper delivered in a crisp white envelope.  They can be landscape or portrait and are great for birthdays, Valentine’s Day and other special occasions. They cost £2.99 (or €2.99 or $2.99) plus postage.
  2. Our Touchnote card (102 x 102mm) is a delightful sqaure card with two flaps to prop it up. Perfect for thank you notes, invitations and announcements. The cost £1.99 (or €1.99 or $1.99) plus postage.
  3. Our postcards (108 x 148mm) are made from beautiful full colour gloss paper. They are delivered without an envelope. A really fun and simple way to share your photos. They cost 99p (or 99c or 99c) plus postage.

How will I receive my order?

If we're sending them directly to your friend, then we'll print and post it to them in a crisp white envelope.

If you order is "back to you", you'll receive all your cards and envelopes together. Yes, there will be an envelope inside an envelope! (Touchnote's tongue-twister sentence).

Can all products come in packs?

No, sorry they can’t. Your Greeting cards and Touchnote cards can come in packs however, Postcards are always sent individually and direct to a friend.

Can I make different cards and make them in to packs?

Of course you can. You can make as many different designs of the same product as you like and send them as a pack. Different products will be sent separately.

Can I mix the different products and make them in to packs?

Yes! We bundle together all the cards that are going back to you (doesn't matter if they're all different). To make sure we get them all in the same package, please make sure you type your address exactly the same each time

Are the cards glossy or matt?

The cards are all made with a beautiful glossy finish. The insides of the Greeting Cards and Touchnote Cards are not laminated - therefore you can write in your personalised message yourself or type it in when creating your card online. Up to you.

Do you sell extra stamps?

Sorry we don't sell stamps.

Do you sell envelopes?

All the cards except the post cards are sent in crispy white envelopes. If you order a pack they will arrive together with the right number of white envelopes ready for you to send.

Payment

Which currencies do you accept?

We accept British Pounds (GBP), Euros (EUR) and US Dollars (USD). To change the currency that you pay in, click on the drop down menu that appears at the top of the screen when you visit our homepage and select the currency you wish to use.

How much do cards cost?

Each type of card has a different price.  Discounts are available for bulk orders (with the discount increasing the more you order) and if you use our "prepay" option (for every £20 you upload, we will give you £5 free).

- Greeting cards cost £2.99 (or $2.99 or €2.99). They are currently on introductory discount at £1.49
- Post cards cost £1.49 (or $1.49 or £1.49)

The price of postage is included, to anywhere in the whole world!

It's time to send some cards.

Are there discounts for bulk orders?

Yes. The more you spend, the more you save. Take a look at our credit packs.

Are my details safe?

You bet. All payments are processed through PayPal which is totally safe.

If you've got any concerns, please let us know.

Can I get a refund if my order comes damaged, comes really late, or if I just don't like it?

Of course you can. We want you to be totally happy with your order. If you are not happy in any way, we will do everything that we can to fix this. Please get in touch.

Do I have to pay by card?

No. You don’t have to. You can use PayPal.

My account

Why should I get an account?

Having an account allows you to more easily track and manage the cards that you create.

And, as a little incentive to sign up, we'll give you £1 of credit if you create an account.

Once you have an account, "My prepay" allows you to put money into your personal Touchnote account to pay for future orders. You can credit the account using PayPal or with your credit card.

Each time you top up your credit, we will add on 25% free:
- Add £20, get £5 extra free
- Add £40, get £10 extra free
- Add £60, get £15 extra free

Are my credit card details saved on the site?

No - we don't store any of your financial data. This is for your protection, and to make sure that nobody hacks into your account.

Do I need to have an account to send a card?

No - you can order a card without setting up an account. Start by choosing an image for your card.

What if I forget my password?

You can reset your password when you sign in. Let us know if you're having any troubles with this.

How do I use "my addresses"?

"My addresses" is a personal address book which allows you to store all of your addresses in one place. Addresses for cards ordered on the website are automatically saved and you can add additional contacts yourself by selecting "add address" and inputting the details. You can edit and delete any addresses.

What if I want to cancel my account? Will all my details be erased forever?

Get in touch. We can do this, but you'll need to be in touch with our customer service team.

What is "my reminders"?

"My reminders" is a personal reminder service to make your card ordering really easy. All you need to do is specify a particular date (for someone's birthday or for any special occasion on the calendar) and we'll send you an email a few days before (or earlier if you like), in order to remind you of it. This way you will have enough time to order and send the perfect card.

What is "my images"?

All photos you have uploaded onto Touchnote, any designs you have used to make an order as well as any cool adjustments you have made in our new image personaliser are automatically saved in "my images".

Can I re-use my images?

Yes you can. You can turn any of your saved images and designs in to cards. You just need to go to "my images" select the image and then click "make a card".

What is "my orders"?

In "My orders" you will find a list of all of the previous orders you have made (and the photos and designs you have used).

You can see:
- The date the order was made
- The order ID
- How much the order cost
- The status of delivery (has it been printed and posted yet?)

You'll never accidentally send the same card to the same person twice. You can also reorder any cards by clicking on "view image" then select the image and press "make a card".

Can I pre-order a card?

Yes. When you are making your card, you can specify when you want the card to be posted in the calendar at the same time that you are entering the address where the card is being sent to. Just select the date in the future when you want it posted and that's when we'll print and post it.

Make sure to take into consideration that delivery time within the UK takes 1-2 working days whilst it takes 3-5 working days to send to Europe and the rest of the world.

Mobile

Get the Touchnote mobile app right now!

How do I use Touchnote on my mobile phone?

The Touchnote application comes installed on all new Sony Ericsson Android mobile phones. But, if you're not lucky enough to have one of those, we've got applications available for download on iPhone, Android phones, Windows Phones and for Nokia phones. We're working on a new app for Palm phones.

Download the right app for you.

How much does it cost to send a postcard from my mobile?

Each postcard that you send costs £1.49 if you're in the UK, €1.49 if you're inside the Eurozone and $1.49 from the rest of the world. This is the total price, postage to anywhere in the world is free.

If you're using a Sony Ericsson phone with our app pre-installed, the first postcard that you send is free. We'd like you to try our service and see how great our cards are.

Can I really use it from anywhere in the world?

Yes. We've had mobile orders come in from Brazil, USA, Kenya, Barbados, India and Indonesia - in fact, from over 150 countries. So, yes you can.

What cards can I order? What are they like?

We are currently only offering postcards from your mobile. These cards are exactly the same as ordering from Touchnote website - great glossy postcards sent out within one working day.

Making a card

Do my pictures have to be a certain size?

Yes they do. Images should be at least 288 x 288 pixels (which comes out at 72 dpi) in order to be of good enough quality to make a Touchnote card. (If you click on your photo and select properties, you can see the resolution for your image). Once you have uploaded your image you can use our online tool to crop and rotate it. This means you can choose portrait or landscape images - whatever you prefer. And, of course, you can choose which type of card you want.

How much do the different types of card cost?

Each type of card has a different price.  Discounts are also available for bulk orders (with the discount increasing the more you order) and if you use our “prepay” option (for every £20 you upload, we will give you £5 free).

- Greeting cards cost £2.99 (or $2.99 or €2.99)
- Touchnotes (invitation and thank you notes) cost £1.99 (or $1.99 or €1.99)
- Post cards cost 99p (or 99c or 99c)

The postage price is the same, to the whole world! Just 50p (or 50c or 50c) for Gillingham, Japan or Jamaica.

It’s time to send some cards.

Can I use more than one picture in my card?

Yes you can. You'll need to use the online collage tool and create a montage of your favourite snaps. First, you'll need to upload your primary image onto the card. Once you're into the card personaliser, you will then have the option to "Add a Photo" above the image – this allows you to upload more images which you can cut and paste around your primary photo.

Does Touchnote retain any rights to the photos that I upload?

We definitely do not. Your images belong to you – they are your copyright and not Touchnote’s. We store them in your account so that they are easy to be re-ordered, but only you will be able to re-order these images – your photos are safe with us!

Can I upload a photo to the inside of the card?

Sorry, no you can’t. With all our Touchnote products you can only upload a picture to the outside of the card.

Are the images I upload published on the Touchnote website?

This is completely up to you. Touchnote has a public gallery so that your card may inspire other visitors to Touchnote.com. If you would like to do this, just click on the ‘share these cards in the gallery’ option when you get to the payment page.

For those of you who do not want to share your photos, we will not put anything online unless you tell us to - we promise!

I heard I can make cards with a 'partner' site, who are your partners?

You are right! We have partnered with websites like FACEinHOLE and PhotoFunia, two creative image-editing sites. All you need to do is go on to their site, create an image and then press the ‘send as a postcard’ option. There are lots of other partners as well.

If I want to make packs of cards is there an easy way to use the same images but change the text details for each person?

Yes there is. Once you've finished personalising your photo, go to the "add message / add address page". Once you've made your first card, click on the "Send same card to another friend" button that's right at the bottom of the page. That will let you make another card using the same personalised image, edit your message (if you want to) and enter the new address for the new card.

Can I get text printed in other languages with non-Latin character sets (eg. Greek, Russian, Chinese)?

Yup! Any (human) language that you like.
